What We Believe

Article I: "The Scriptures"
We believe that "all scripture is given by inspiration of God," by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that holy men of God "were moved by the Holy Spirit" to write the very words of scripture. Divine inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of scripture as appeared in the original manuscripts; therefore, the whole Bible in the original is without error. We also believe that all scriptures center about the Lord Jesus Christ in His Person and work in His first and second coming; therefore, no portion of scripture is properly read or understood until it leads to Him. (Luke 24:27, 44; John 5:39; II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)

Article II: "The Godhead"
We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons-The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit-and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience. (Matthew 28:18, 19; Mark 12:29; I John 5:7)

Article III: "Deity and Humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ"
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, that He pre-existed as God, He was born of a virgin, that He died a vicarious, sacrificial, and substitutionary death, that He bodily rose from the dead, and is therefore the only qualified mediator between God and man. (Matthew 1:23-25; John 1:1-4, 14; Acts 4:12; I Corinthians 15:3, 4; I Timothy 2:5)

Article IV: "The Fall of Man"
We believe that man was created good and upright, in the very image and after the likeness of God, and that man fell by a voluntary act of rebellion, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God and the total depravity of the human nature. We also believe that this spiritual death has been transmitted to the entire human race of man-the man Christ Jesus alone being excepted. (Genesis 1:26, 27 ; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3

Article V: "Salvation of Man"
We believe that man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and the salvation is by grace through faith, and not by human works. We also believe that the salvation provided for by the redemptive work of Christ extends to man’s entire being—spirit, soul, and body—of which we can partake of the first fruits of this redemption now in this present age.
